Midfielder on verge of leaving Reading

Midfielder on verge of leaving Reading
Daniel Carrico has struggled to fit into Reading, but will no longer need to, as he will join Sevilla in the new few days.

The 24-year old left Sporting Lisbon in January to move to Berkshire, but made just one start under Brian McDermott and two substitute appearances under new boss Nigel Adkins. The deal is believed to be a loan move, with an option for a permanent transfer.

If you look at this Spanish-based website, there are a few quotes from Carrico, who stated: 'Sevilla was interested in me last year and is a great club, I would really like. I will not stay at Reading, I had trouble adjusting and a mishap with the coach.'

Very interesting quotes from Carrico, which coach did he have the supposed 'mishap' with? I can only assume it was McDermott, but was Carrico really 'all that' anyway?! Yes, he may have had trouble settling in, but if he was as good as his CV suggested, wouldn't he have been implemented more often?

It was not like one manager refused to play him, it was two. I doubt we will see Daniel Carrico in a Reading shirt again, as the 750,000 euro fee has already been agreed for a permanent move. It's a shame that it didn't work out, but we still have great options in that area, with the likes of Guthrie, Karacan, Williams and Akpan.
