The Championship 2013/14 - Barnsley
Nickname: The Tykes
Ground: Oakwell (Capacity: 23,009)
When we face off: Tues 1st October (A), Tues 25th March (H)
Last season finish: 21st - Championship
Manager: David Flitcroft - The 39-year old is enjoying his first spell in management, after taking over as manager in December 2012. Flitcroft guided the Tykes to safety last season, with an impressive 12 wins in 25 games and will be looking forward to starting afresh this campaign.
Key player: Chris O'Grady - The strong forward signed on a permanent from Sheffield Wednesday in June, after a successful loan spell at the end of the 2012/13 season. He was instrumental in a fine finish to the season for the Yorkshire side and will want to prove that he is capable of managing Championship football, after spending the majority of his career in the lower leagues.
Season Preview: The Tykes are making some astute acquisitions in the transfer market, having already signed Chris O'Grady and Dale Jennings from Bayern Munich. I would imagine most Barnsley fans would be content with a comfortable mid-table finish and as long as they start well in the league, that is certainly achievable.
