Player Ratings - QPR (A)
After a very good away performance against QPR, Vital Reading takes a look at the players' individual performances from the victory at Loftus Road.

-------------------------------------------------------

Alex McCarthy - 5 - The keeper would have wanted to make amends for his mistake against Sheffield Wednesday, but made a similar mistake in this one for QPR's goal, spilling the ball away too easily. Every other part of his game was fine though.

Chris Gunter - 7 - He struggled at times with Traore's power and pace in the first half, but was much more comfortable in the second. Didn't venture forward much, but was probably instructed by Adkins to do so, with Traore not doing a lot of tracking back.

Alex Pearce - 7 - There were question marks from fans whether Pearce should be in the side after his mare last week, but he proved those fans wrong with a very solid display.

Kaspars Gorkss - 7 - You could be harsh and questions Gorkss for the equaliser and his failure to get his away far enough. Apart from this, he was very solid. I'm not going to criticise him for the red card, because for one it wasn't a red card offense, and two he had to make that challenge, as Hoilett was always going to do him for pace. I'd expect his red to be rescinded.

Jordan Obita - 7 - Another mature performance from Obita, who is looking like a more natural left back by the week. Seeing him bomb forward away from home is a great sight, showing he has confidence, as well as having a good defensive player in McAnuff infront of him.

Garath McCleary - 8 - I wonder if Essou-Akotto is still having nightmares about him? McCleary was a problem for his all afternoon and it was hardly surprising to see him get the better of the left back for the third goal, with an absolutely sublime strike.

Danny Williams - 8 - Man of the Match - These past few weeks the American midfielder has reminded me of Sidwell and his box-to-box ability. This was reflected with his goal, which was a superb header, as well as doing the dirty work at the other end. Along with Akpan, he made an experienced midfield in Barton and Kranjcar look very average.

Hope Akpan - 7 - Started the move for the first goal with a good pass out to McAnuff and his passing all game was very good. Kept it simple all game and broke up QPR's midfield play very effectively with Williams.

Jobi McAnuff - 7 - Good game from the skipper, who did his fair share of attacking and defensive work. Superb delivery for Pearce's goal and was a problem for Hughes by cutting inside and allowing good width for Obita to drive forward.

Pavel Pogrebnyak - 8 - The big Russian for me has been the most consistent performer this season and early contender for player of the season. His hold-up play is second to none and he certainly matched the physical battle that Dunne and Hill posed.

Adam le Fondre - 6 - Alfie has only scored two away from home and they were both penalties, but you can see why. The game could have suited him more if we played on the break, but we had good possession at times, keeping QPR deep, so couldn't really play off the shoulder. Perfect good cross for the Williams goal though.

----------------------SUBSTITUTES----------------------

Michael Hector - 6 - Came off after Gorkss was sent off, but in the final 20 minutes, I honestly can't remember him touching the ball. It will be good to see him start a game at some point though.

Hal Robson-Kanu - 6 - Did well on his own up front and worked hard.

Stephen Kelly - N/A - Substitute in injury time to run the clock down, I don't think he touched the ball.
