Player Ratings - Blackburn (H)
Alex McCarthy - 7 - The keeper couldn't do a lot about the goal, but did have to make a very good save from Rhodes minutes later. His kicking wasn't too bad and his claiming of long balls was good, although he did misjudge one ball which he had no right to come for.
Chris Gunter - 6 - Hit and miss showing from Gunter, who was solid defensively, but hasn't got enough confidence going forward. He also lacks composure when he is under pressure, often just hoofing an aimless ball into the channels.
Alex Pearce - 6 - Same problem as Gunter really in that he doesn't have any confidence when he is on the ball. He dealt quite comfortable with the threat of Rhodes and Gestede though.
Kaspars Gorkss - 7 - A good game from Gorkss, who didn't put a foot wrong all game. Yes, his distribution isn't very good, but he still looks more comfortable than Pearce does. Same as Pearce, didn't really give Rhodes or Gestede a sniff.
Jordan Obita - 7 - Our only attacking outlet looked like this young man, who was the only player that seemed capable of putting a good ball into the area. He was good defensively, but is too predictable at times on the left side, as it's clear he doesn't like using his right foot.
Garath McCleary - 6 - A mainly anonymous game from the winger, who was obvious highlighted by Blackburn after his QPR display. He was often doubled up on and it was no surprise that he was brought off by Adkins on the hour mark.
Danny Williams - 6 - Another player who became anonymous, but still gave his usual bundles of energy in the midfield. His passing was good, but couldn't really supply the wings or the front two.
Hope Akpan - 6 - An average game from the midfielder, whose passing was on and off in this one. He made some good interceptions again, but is not the sort of player that is going to unlock a defence with a splitting pass.
Jobi McAnuff - 5 - It's a shame for the skipper, who sometimes tries too hard for the team. It has to go down as a mistake from Jobi, who has been very good these past few weeks. He really wanted to atone for that error, but his end product and shooting was nowhere near good enough.
Adam le Fondre - 6 - Alfie showed some good touches, trying to match Blackburn's centre backs for physicality, but he isn't effective unless you supply him chances - simple as. Our overly-direct approach did him no favours either.
Pavel Pogrebnyak - 6 - It wasn't the big Russian's game today. He had a good chance at the end of the first half, but ballooned it over the bar. I was still surprised he was brought off for HRK, but same as Aflie, he needs the supply.
Danny Guthrie - 5 - Didn't have a good influence on the game and did his crucial coming deep to get the ball, then not having enough numbers in midfield. Didn't show enough to deserve a spot over Akpan next week, even though I think Adkins will bring him in for Yeovil.
Hal Robson-Kanu - 6 - The Welsh international was starved of supply like the other forward players, but it was good to see him wanting to take on the Rovers defence with the ball at his feet. Still not sure if I'm convinced he is a capable striker.
Royston Drenthe - 6 - His first appearance in seven games and while it is clear Adkins is not his biggest fan, he shows a willingness to take players on and shoot, something we lacked in this one. As much as he has his doubters, I'd still like to see him play a bigger role in team.
