The Championship 2014/15 - Charlton

The Championship 2014/15 - Charlton
Club: Charlton Athletic

Founded: 1905

Nickname: The Addicks

Ground: The Valley (Capacity: 27,111)

When we face off: Sat 8th November (H), Sat 21st March (A)

Last season finish: 18th - Championship

Manager: Bob Peeters - Not a huge amount is known about the new Charlton boss, who took over from Jose Riga, whose contract strangely wasn't renewed. He has previously managed at three Belgian clubs and also had a short playing stint with Millwall back in 2003.

Key player: Johnnie Jackson - The former Tottenham midfielder boasts over 300 league appearances and it's his fantastic experience at this level which will benefit this Charlton side. A central midfielder with an impressive record of 42 goals in 147 league games for the Addicks, he has been a crucial figure for them over the past four seasons.

Season Preview: Charlton looked in real trouble last season and sacked Chris Powell as a result, which was met with criticism from Addicks fans. However, Jose Riga came in and steadied the ship, steering them well clear of relegation. Smart signings have been made this summer by Charlton too, signing up former Royals defender Andre Bikey and Israeli defender Tal Ben-Haim, as well as the exciting prospect of Franck Moussa. Charlton have a nice blend of youth and experience, which should see them secure a comfortable mid-table position.
