Manager: Stuart Gray - The job that the head coach of Wednesday has done has gone mainly unnoticed, turning them into possible play-off contenders, from relegation candidates this time last year. A win record of over 42% backs up this claim and proves how by appointing from within can really give a team the needed confidence boost - we know about that first hand.

Key player: Chris Maguire - The former Aberdeen forward has failed to settle in at a club since he came to England, but may well have found a home at Wednesday. The two-time Scotland international is a forward that is capable of creating something out of nothing, whether it be his long-range ability or his clever feet to supply his teammates.

Season Preview: Sheffield Wednesday got their season off to a great start with a very good victory at Brighton today and in a few peoples eyes, even prior to this game, could be dark horses this season. They have a good blend of youth (Lavery, Lee and Helan) and experience (Loovens, Buxton and Kirkland), and have made a great signing in Stevie May, who could form a fruitful partnership with Maguire this season.
