Player Ratings - Forest (H)

Player Ratings - Forest (H)
After another dismal home defeat on the weekend, Vital Reading looks at the players' individual performances from the 3-0 loss to Forest.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam Federici - 6 - Feders could do nothing about the first two goals. The third goal he seemed to take a step forward and on the replays he does seem a tad too far from his line - debatable whether it would have made a difference though, it was a superb strike.

Chris Gunter - 7 - Before the game I was surprised Kelly was dropped, despite his good form. In the end, Gunter was probably our best player. Kept Paterson out the game in the first half and bombed forward at every opportunity, putting in a few decent deliveries.

Alex Pearce - 5 - Shaky performance from the skipper, who on that matter, didn't come across as the leader when the two goals went in. Not just Pearce, but the back four was standing off on too many occasions, it was not a surprise we were punished by two screamers.

Michael Hector - 6 - A few bad decisions from Hec, but on the whole, comfortable. Same as above though, too much standing off, even with Fryatt's smart movement in behind.

Jordan Obita - 6 - He didn't offer himself going forward, which was frustrating, especially when Robson-Kanu persisted to come central. Defensively he was solid though, keeping Antonio quiet for the most part.

Garath McCleary - 6 - Not a great performance, but still one of our more dangerous players. A good first half with lots of direct running, but went missing in the second period.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 5 - Good work rate and midfield engine, and is at his best when he keeps his passing simple - on too many occasions his passing was hopeful and erratic. Still think he offers more to the side than Norwood at the moment though.

Danny Williams - 5 - It was not Williams' day, which started off a bad note, losing the ball early on for Osbourne's shot, which set the tone for his game. He wasn't his usual self and couldn't drive us forward in midfield like he usually does.

Hal Robson-Kanu - 4 - Did his usual trick of drifting inside, despite his only good moment coming when the wide left when he crossed for McCleary's chance. His confidence is clearly shot and seems scared to take on a defender.

Simon Cox - 4 - This was his big chance to prove himself his old team and us, after a recent goal drought. Instead, it was an afternoon of pure frustration for Cox, who missed a fantastic chance in the first half and was poor throughout. You want it to happen for him, but it's not at the moment.

Pavel Pogrebnyak - 5 - Good work rate from the Pog, but that was about it, in a frustrating performance. The big Russian had a great chance early in the second half to score, but somehow missed it. His hold-up was hit and miss, but when it was hit, Cox was nowhere in sight.

--------------------SUBSTITUTES--------------------

Danny Guthrie - 5 - Odd decision to put him on the wing, but didn't have enough time on the pitch to make an impact.

Yakubu - 5 - Looked sluggish and unfortunately didn't offer anything when he came on.
