Player Ratings - Derby (A)

Player Ratings - Derby (A)
After a superb final performance of the season, we look at the players' performances from the emphatic victory at Derby on Saturday. Goals from Kwesi Appiah, Michael Hector and Garath McCleary secured a fantastic final day result for the Royals.

Adam Federici - 8 - Feders penalty save was the turning point of the match and what a superb save it was! He made other crucial saves in the first half, but this game summed up his season - superb.

Chris Gunter - 7 - Not overly adventurous going forward, but expected considering Ince's threat down the right. Gunts did his defensive job very well and was very rarely beaten.

Michael Hector - 8 - Man of the Match - Another outstanding performance from Big Hec, who mopped up everything Derby threw at him. Bent or Martin barely had a sniff in the second half. Composed on the ball also, playing out when he could.

Alex Pearce - 7 - Hector shouldn't get all the credit, as Pearcey put in a solid performance as well. Won most of his aerial battles and didn't let Bent get in behind with his pace.

Jordan Obita - 6 - Like Gunter, solid defensively, but didn't really get forward much. One lapse of concentration made him give away a justified penalty, but will learn from it.

Oliver Norwood - 7 - Ollie has finished the season in good form, and has probably just about swayed me to keep him over the summer. Good work rate, plenty of interceptions and tackles, along with some crisp short passing. He still tried the difficult ball on the odd occasion, but you don't want him to refrain him from doing them.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 7 - The Chelsea loanee said in the week he would came back here on loan - make it happen, Steve! It was a typical Chalobah performance, good midfield engine and used his composure to keep it ticking in midfield.

Jem Karacan - 7 - Very good performance from the skipper, who should earn a new deal based on his performances since his injury. Constantly hassled Derby's midfield into mistakes and looked dangerous in and around their penalty area.

Garath McCleary - 6 - Despite scoring the penalty, it seemed quite an anonymous performance from GMac, which is a shame as it was the counter-attacking performance that would suit his game. Fosu instead seemed to be the focal point of that style when he came on.

Jack Stacey - 6 - Unfortunately had to go off injured after thirty minutes, but in his short cameo, didn't look shy of getting on the ball and making tackles.

Kwesi Appiah - 7 - Great work rate, composure and finishing for his first Reading goal, as well as a good all round performance. His pace caused Keogh issues and did really well to play up top on his own.

Tarique Fosu - 7 - The academy graduate came on for his debut and what an encouraging one it was. Always wanted to take on and beat his man, which he did very often. He still seems slightly raw in terms of making the right decision in and around the area, but looks very promising for next season.

Jake Cooper and Danny Williams were brought on too late to have an impact.
