Player Ratings - Bristol City (H)

Player Ratings - Bristol City (H)
We take a look at the players' performances from the 2-1 win over Bristol City on Saturday, which made it five win son the bounce.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ali Al-Habsi - 7 - Luckily the defenders in front of him made it a slightly easier afternoon, but the Omani stopper was still in fine shot-stopping form, making a save of the season contender in the first half. Also worth mentioning, his distribution was spot on.

Liam Moore - 7 - Wasn't fazed by the physicality of Abraham and Wilbraham, winning his fair share of headers and was solid throughout. Only downside was being booked, meaning he misses out against Fulham on Saturday

Paul McShane - 8 - Man of the match for most, in what was a typical captain's performance. Blocked everything that came his way and lead by example. Outstanding game.

Tyler Blackett - 7 - The summer signing continues to flourish in his new role on the left-side of the central three defenders. Like his two partners, solid throughout and kept his concentration.

Chris Gunter - 7 - The Welshman has been our most consistent player this season, along with Ali, and he continued it today and even got himself an assist. I was impressed with his attacking intent, which usually isn't that apparent - maybe the new wing-back role gives him more confidence to do this.

George Evans - 6 - Nothing spectacular, but a solid game from Evans, who got over a shaky start with a few misplaced passes. A strong player on and off the ball who allows Williams more freedom to drive from midfield.

Danny Williams - 7 - Another good game from the America, amid interest of a Premier League move in January. Can be guilty of holding onto the ball too much sometimes, but his ability to win the ball back and accelerate through the opposition's midfield is a great asset considering the system we play.

Roy Beerens - 7 - Roy probably didn't see as much of the ball as he did against Burton, but was lively nonetheless. Great finish for our second goal.

Jordan Obita - 6 - Didn't have as much influence as he did against Burton, but still got up and down the pitch well and helped Blackett when he needed to.

Garath McCleary - 7 - GMac seemed to have a wider role compared to Burton, which he looked more comfortable with, and had the beating of Bryan for most of the afternoon. Got lucky with the penalty, but won't mind too much.

Dominic Samuel - 6 - A quite game for the young striker, but was still pivotal in the penalty being awarded. Soft or not, he did well to chase down the ball and proves that he gives us a different option compared to Kermorgant. Could have done better with a few half chances in the second period.

---------------------------------SUBSTITUTES---------------------------------

Yakou Meite - 6 - Probably should have been brought on earlier, but still showed flashes of his pace and power.

Callum Harriot - 6 - Brought on to try and stretch City on the break, but didn't see much of the ball.

Liam Kelly - N/A - I was shocked that Cooper wasn't brought on instead of 5'5 Kelly and I'm not sure he touched the ball, but he would have been able to slow the tempo down in the midfield.
